Zork Trilogy Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Zork Trilogy, an interactive fiction application hosted on the Root platform. By launching or playing Zork Trilogy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

Your use of the Root platform is also governed by Root’s own terms and community policies.

About the Game

Zork Trilogy runs the classic interactive fiction stories created by Infocom (Zork I: The Great Underground Empire, Zork II: The Wizard of Frobozz, and Zork III: The Dungeon Master). The game engine provides a terminal interface for exploring the Great Underground Empire.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Zork Trilogy in accordance with these Terms and the rules of your Root community. You agree not to:

Privacy and Data

How your game sessions, save slots, and profile data are stored and protected is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

The original Zork story files, game text, and interactive fiction designs are the intellectual property of their respective copyright holders. This application is provided for personal entertainment and interactive fiction preservation within Root communities.

Availability and “As Is” Warranty

Zork Trilogy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. While we strive to ensure reliable state saving and continuous availability, we do not guarantee that gameplay will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that save data will never be affected by platform updates or hardware failures.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the game, including loss of saved game progress or session history.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When revised, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the application following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
