QuestBoard Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
QuestBoard is a gaming event management app that runs inside the Root platform. It helps members of a Root community organize gaming events, manage tables and game types, make reservations, and coordinate supplies. This policy explains what information QuestBoard collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
QuestBoard runs within a Root community. Your account, sign-in, and identity are provided by the Root platform, and Root’s own privacy policy governs the platform itself. This policy covers only the QuestBoard app.
Information We Collect
Identity from Root. When you use QuestBoard, the app receives your Root user identifier and your community membership details — including your display name/nickname and the community roles that determine what you can do in the app (for example, whether you can administer events). QuestBoard does not receive or store your password.
Profile information you provide. If you choose to fill out your player profile, QuestBoard stores the optional contact details you enter:
- Email address
- Phone number
- Preferred contact method
These fields are optional. You can add, change, or clear them at any time from your profile in the app.
Activity you create in the app. To make the app work, QuestBoard stores the gaming data you and other members create, such as:
- Events (including notes), tables, and game types
- Reservations and the characters associated with them
- “Please bring” requests and the commitments members make to fulfill them
- Event rewards (“loot”)
- Images you upload for use in the app
How We Use Information
We use this information only to operate QuestBoard’s features, including to:
- Show events, tables, reservations, and related details to members of your community
- Let organizers manage events and let members reserve seats and coordinate supplies
- Determine what actions you are allowed to take, based on your community role
- Display member names next to events, reservations, and requests
- Send event-related notifications to your community’s notification channel through Root
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
How Information Is Shared
QuestBoard is a shared, community-facing app. Information you create is visible to other members of the same Root community as part of normal use — for example, organizers and other players can see who is registered for an event and who has offered to bring items.
Beyond your community, QuestBoard does not share your information with third parties, except:
- Through the Root platform, which hosts the app and delivers notifications
- Where required by law
Data Storage and Retention
QuestBoard stores its data within the Root platform environment for your community. Information is retained for as long as it is needed to provide the app’s features — for example, event and reservation records remain until they are deleted. Your profile contact details remain until you clear them or your data is removed.
If you would like your profile information or activity removed, contact a QuestBoard administrator in your community or email us at the address below.
Children’s Privacy
QuestBoard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated within the app or your community.
