Node-ROOT Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Node-ROOT is a visual workflow automation editor and execution engine that runs inside the Root platform. It lets you create automated workflows to route platform events, check logical conditions, and execute action commands. This policy explains what information Node-ROOT collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Node-ROOT runs within a Root community. Your account, sign-in, and identity are provided by the Root platform, and Root’s own privacy policy governs the platform itself. This policy covers only the Node-ROOT app.
Information We Collect
Identity and Scopes. When you configure and deploy a workflow in Node-ROOT, the app receives your Root user identifier, display name/nickname, and community identifiers. It uses this to authenticate editor sessions and assign workflow authorship.
Workflows and Code. Node-ROOT stores the configuration of your workflows, including:
- Node positions, configuration properties, trigger criteria, and connections
- Deployed snapshots (to run workflows in the background)
- Workflow names, descriptions, states (Draft, Deployed, Disabled, Error), and enabled toggles
- When the workflow was created and last updated
Execution Logs. To help you debug automation runs, Node-ROOT records a transient history of executions, including which trigger fired, which nodes ran, parameter values passed between nodes, duration times, and any execution errors. Logs do not record sensitive user tokens or credentials.
Node-ROOT does not collect analytics, device identifier hashes, advertising IDs, or geolocation coordinates.
How We Use Information
We use this information only to operate the automation engine, including to:
- Persist draft workflows and let you edit them visually
- Register event listeners within your Root community for deployed triggers
- Run workflow nodes sequentially when trigger events occur
- Render detailed execution debug traces in the visual inspector
- Expose permission failures and execution logs to help you debug
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
How Information Is Shared
Workflows and execution logs are shared with the administrators of the Root community where the app is installed. Beyond your community, Node-ROOT does not share your information with third parties, except:
- Through the Root platform to register events and post actions
- Where required by law
Data Storage and Retention
Node-ROOT stores its data within the Root platform database environment for your community. Workflow configurations and logs are retained until deleted by a community administrator, or until the app is uninstalled.
Children’s Privacy
Node-ROOT is a technical developer tool not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
